I aim for a student centered classroom where they are challenged to strive for excellence while they reflect on where they’ve been, where they are, and where they are going.
Fostering self-directed learning provides students long lasting benefits in life beyond the classroom.
Sensible integration of technology into proper curriculum design is required rather than just “teaching tools” to teachers and students. Merely substituting technology for older methods does not lead to better outcomes.
Technology should be leveraged to make transformational changes in instruction, class management, and student learning. Students need experiences that inspire creativity and self-directed learning while demonstrating model digital citizenship.
For me, technology offers me an avenue for daily professional development while allowing me to contribute to the larger teaching community by sharing what I have learned.
